After months of awaited time, fashion lovers crave the day when designers, top fashion editors, and the best in the industry tell us what IN this upcoming season, and we yearn every moment. From large collars, bright neons, feathers, to going all the way back in time (the 60s,) Spring fashion is all about taking risks; being bold and adventurous.
Crochet; this delicate knitting might remind you of granny, but the way it was designed this year, will say otherwise. Seen on Marni, Fendi and Jill Sanders shows; a whole lot of crochet on dresses and tops made their appearance. We might think of a crochet formed on a cardigan as the basic, but the designers went all out with crochet from sunny day dresses to even evening wear.
The Disco Collar
The disco collar was seen with its extravagance at shows such as Lanvin and Feragammo, with a modern twist on various jackets, button down blouses and such. The trend of large collar, either oversized or pointed, gives a unique piece existence without trying too hard.
Highlighters and neons are still the talk of the town. Since, seen on Tom Ford’s or Valentino shows, you know these colors are going to be on the biggest names in Hollywood. Jacquemus, Marni, Balenciaga also strutted their models in these bright neons. You had pink, yellows, greens; name it, it was highlighted neon. Crazed for vibrant colors this spring, which is always a YES in my book.
Bermuda’s graced the stages of Fashion week on shows of Tom Ford, Bottega Veneta, Chloe, Altuzarra, Givenchy, and Tod’s. Not only a single piece of clothing (the bermuda), but they are giving us bermuda suits! An entire look of business meets casual meets oh-so chic! I see alot of us girls rockin this new style of suit feeling like we are strutting the runway ourselves.
Retro prints rocked the runways, bringing in 60s and 70s prints. A Lot of vintage patterns and prints from various designers made their appearance, and they did not disappoint. A more bohemian look was seen on Etro and Alberta Ferretti shows.
Feathers came sweeping with dresses and tops from Burberry, Valentino, and more. This is always a daring look, but if you want to make a statement, we say go feathers. Edgy or glam; depending on how you choose to pair your statement piece. Kaia Garber looked stunning in this blush pink Alexander McQueen feathered dress!
